Form Builder
WebWorkstationCreate and maintain form pages, fields, branding, contact handling, and publish settings. Open ZynoForms > Form Builder on Web or Workstation.
Permission required
You need ZynoForms > Edit Forms to open, edit, publish, or delete a form. The separate create permission lets you create or duplicate forms. Users with ZynoForms access but without form-edit access can review submissions without changing form definitions.
Getting there
Open ZynoForms > Form Builder from the launcher or module navigation. The builder is available on Web and ZynoWorkstation; the submissions workspace remains available on mobile.
Manage forms
The Form Builder list shows each form's name, link name, publishing status, submission count, and last update. Select a row to edit it. The actions menu can open submissions, share the form, duplicate it, or delete it when your role allows that action.
Select New Form to create a form. A deleted form stops accepting new public submissions; its existing submissions remain available for review.
Build a form
The editor has three areas:
| Area | Use |
|---|---|
| Structure | Add pages and fields, organize sections, and reorder content. |
| Preview | See the customer-facing form and use Try it to test conditions and validation. |
| Inspector | Set the selected field's label, requirements, choices, formatting, and other properties; open form-wide settings when no field is selected. |
The available fields include text, hidden tracking values, number, date, select, radio, checkbox, signature, contact, display, review, section, marketing preference, and email-copy fields. See Field Types for what each field does.
Use form settings to control the public link name, heading and appearance, language choices, contact matching or creation, CRM tags to add after submission, staff notification recipients, approved embed origins, kiosk reset time, and bot protection. Use the JSON editor only when your organization needs a setting the visual controls do not expose.
Save, preview, and publish
- Make the structural and settings changes you need.
- Select Check and resolve any errors before publishing.
- Select Save draft to keep work without changing the public form.
- Select Preview and complete the draft as a visitor would.
- Select Publish when the draft is ready for customers.
Publishing makes the draft the live public version. Each existing submission retains its associated form version.
History and recovery
Select History in the editor to inspect the draft and published versions. You can make a previous published version live, or load its content into the editor to revise it before publishing. The builder also keeps a recoverable local draft if a browser session closes with unsaved changes.
Share a form
Select Share from the form list or editor to copy the public link, open it, copy an iframe embed snippet, or download a QR code. If you embed a form on another site, add that site's origin in the form's Advanced settings or the browser blocks the embed.
Bot protection for public forms
If your organization gives you access to the form editor, open the form settings and use the Advanced tab to select Bot protection. This setting applies only to the published public form; it does not change the editor preview or existing submitted records.
| Setting | What the person completing the form sees |
|---|---|
| Off | No bot check. Existing forms remain off until an administrator changes them. |
| Visible | A verification control on the final form page. The person must complete it before a valid submission can be sent. |
| Invisible | No separate control. Verification runs after the form's required fields pass local validation and immediately before submission. |
New forms normally start with Visible protection. Choose Off only when the integration submitting the form cannot complete the public verification step. If a visitor sees that verification is missing or expired, have them complete it again and resubmit; a completed verification is intentionally single-use and cannot be reused for another form or retry.
TIP
Use bot protection for public or kiosk-facing forms that can receive unsolicited traffic. It is not needed for a form used only by trusted authenticated staff.
Updating a form
Test changes in preview before publishing, especially when changing required fields, contact matching, signatures, conditions, or a public embed. Existing submissions remain records of the form version used at submission time.

| Public embed is blank | Add the host site origin under form Advanced settings—see Public Form Sharing |
