Idle Timeout
After a period without activity, Web and Workstation can return you to sign-in so unattended stations stay protected. Mobile uses the app's own session behavior instead.
ZynoSuite Web and Workstation each apply inactivity protection. ZynoSuite Mobile uses the mobile app's native session behavior instead of the web idle timer.
What counts as activity
ZynoSuite treats these actions as activity:
- Moving the mouse
- Pressing a key
- Scrolling
- Clicking or tapping in the app
The app checks for inactivity on a regular interval. Your organization and app type determine the exact timeout length.
What happens when you time out
When the idle timeout is reached:
- ZynoSuite clears your active session.
- The app returns to the sign-in screen.
- The login screen can show Your session timed out due to inactivity.
Unsaved form entries, open modals, and in-progress edits may be lost. Save important changes before stepping away from a shared device.
Keep me signed in
The login screen includes Keep me signed in for 30 days. When selected, ZynoSuite Web can keep a browser session active for longer on trusted personal devices.
Do not use this option on shared computers unless your organization specifically allows it. This browser option does not override a workstation's configured idle timeout.
Workstation notes
Administrators configure each workstation's idle timeout in Admin > General > Workstations. ZynoSuite checks activity regularly and returns a workstation to sign-in when its configured interval is reached. Shared workstations commonly use a short interval; the setting is separate from browser session behavior.
If a workstation signs out sooner or later than expected, ask an administrator to review the workstation and authentication settings.
Common issues

| Unsaved work disappeared | Save changes before leaving the app idle. The timeout can reload the app after sign-out. |
| Timeout happens too often | Ask an administrator whether the organization's timeout settings can be adjusted. |
| Timeout does not happen on a shared device | Ask an administrator to review the workstation's idle-timeout setting. |
| Mobile behaves differently | ZynoSuite Mobile uses native app session handling, not the web idle timer. |
